As our horses age or face health challenges, we want the best life possible for them. In older horses or those with chronic health issues, the right feed can help ensure a comfortable, productive and happy life. Our feeds for special needs horses have subtle, yet essential differences. For example, to give ailing horses more stamina and strength, we fortify feeds with added vitamins. For horses plagued with laminitis, we reduce the starches that aggravate that ailment. For older horses with digestive issues, we boost the quality of the feed’s fiber content. All Excel Equine® horse feeds should be fed with liberal quantities of good quality hay and/or pasture and free choice salt. Provide clean, fresh water at all times. Store feed in a clean, dry place protected from insects and rodents. Never feed moldy or insect infested feed to horses as it may cause illness, digestive upset or death.
